The Mormon Murders is Missing a Gamblers Sword Eureka! Topeka! Did I find the Mormon Mans Sword

The Missing Sword

The Scherer Murders

A professional gambler was convicted Monday of murdering his parents in their Pleasanton country club home in hopes of reaping an early inheritance to pay off mounting gaming and other debts.

Ernest Scherer III, 32, faces life in prison without the possibility of parole for murdering Ernest Scherer Jr., 60, and Charlene Abendroth, 57.

Their bodies were found in their home on the grounds of the Castlewood Country Club on March 14, 2008.

The Scherer's would know Supervisor Candace Anderson, I met Ernie Jr, several times over the years, and Nate Greenan would know him from childhood.
